Located only moments away from the iconic Royal Albert Hall, the expansive greenery of Kensington Gardens, and the prestigious Imperial College, this well-located two-bedroom apartment is situated within a stunning period residence that boasts historical charm and architectural elegance. However, despite its enviable location, the apartment lacked appeal, as its tired and shabby interior was in dire need of an urgent update to bring it in line with modern standards and aesthetics. The existing decor did little to reflect the vibrancy of the surrounding area and failed to provide the comfort and functionality expected of a high-end living space.

We were tasked with the comprehensive interior design and meticulous project management of an extensive refurbishment aimed at elevating the apartment to a high-end specification that would attract discerning buyers or renters. Our journey began with a critical assessment of the existing layout, where we identified the small, narrow galley kitchen that was both cramped and poorly lit, contributing to an overall sense of confinement. Recognising the potential for improvement, we made the strategic decision to take down the existing kitchen walls to create a more open concept that would seamlessly blend the kitchen, dining, and lounge areas. This reconfiguration not only visually increased the sense of space but also encouraged a more social and inviting atmosphere, perfect for entertaining guests or enjoying quiet evenings at home.

In our design process, we focused on creating a bespoke kitchen that was not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing. We selected a beautiful stone worktop and splashback that provided a touch of luxury and durability, ensuring that the kitchen would withstand the test of time while remaining stylish. The installation of top-of-the-range integrated appliances was a crucial aspect of the redesign, as these modern conveniences would enhance the appeal to a contemporary lifestyle.

The change in the overall layout allowed us to incorporate a master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, an addition that significantly enhanced the apartment's value and overall appeal. This thoughtful redesign transformed the space into a sophisticated retreat, perfectly blending comfort with elegance, and setting a new standard for luxury living in this highly sought-after location.
