SOUTH KENSINGTON, LONDON SW7

Our studio was invited to undertake the interior design and styling of the guest bedroom within a stunning period property, nestled in the culturally rich heart of South Kensington. The area is renowned for its elegant architecture and historical significance, making it the perfect backdrop for a project that aims to harmonise modern comfort with the timeless beauty of period features. A crucial aspect of the design brief was to create a space that not only highlighted the grandeur and architectural integrity of the property but also imbued the room with a sense of modernity and warmth, making it inviting for its guests.

For this scheme we took inspiration from Hyde Park in the autumn. We selected a rich palette of sumptuous golds, warm rusts, and earthy autumn browns to infuse the room with a sense of warmth and opulence. An oversized bespoke headboard was introduced to serve as a focal point in the room, creating a beautiful contrast against the luxurious gold cork wallpaper that adorned the feature wall. Designer fabrics with rich tones and texture complemented the dark wood grains and striking thread glass table lamps added an artistic flair, casting a warm glow throughout the room.

An oversized gold mirror above the feature fireplace brought more natural light and created an illusion of depth and openness. The mantle was styled with a few amber toned accessories, allowing the stunning marble surround of the fireplace to take centre stage as the true star of the room.

This attention to detail ensured that every element within the space worked in harmony to create a cohesive and inviting guest bedroom that celebrated historical charm and contemporary design.
